Georgia gymnast Courtney Kupets was awarded the Honda-Broderick Cup, given to the nation's top female college athlete. Kupets battled two torn achillies tendons through her collegiate and Olympic career, which includes silver and bronze medals and amassing a record nine individual titles in just three seasons. "Tearing your Achilles used to be something that you didn't return [from]," Kupets told ESPN. "They have medical advances now to help you get through and get you back in shape in six months. "Tearing it again, I think it might have been harder. I knew what I had to go through. I had to be patient again, and that wasn't fun."

As an educator, umpire/official, ex college/professional athlete, and past coach I believe it is our top job to guarentee our athletes recognize it is education first and athletic success second.
