Check out it out all the Double-A Zone's WCWS coverage.

It's been an unbelievable day of softball at the Women's College World Series. Florida advanced to its first WCWS championship series in dramatic fashion, and Washington knocked off Georgia in the nightcap, joining the Gators in the championship series.

Grand slam Sunday

Somebody call Denny's, I'm getting hungry. There have been four grand slams in the WCWS, and 24 home runs -- shattering the old record (20).

Sunday's games:

Washington 9, Georiga 3: The Huskies rebounded after an afternoon loss to beat Georgia on Sunday night and advance to the championship series.

Washngton pitcher Daniel Lawrie chats with ESPN after the game.

Florida 6, Alabama 5:
Unbelievable finish to this SEC battle. Go find ESPN2 and watch the replay. Ali Gardiner hit a walk-off grand slam with two outs in the bottom of the seventh as Florida stunned Alabama 6-5 to advance to the championship round of the Women's College World Series for the first time. Who will join the Gators in the championship?

(Early game) Georgia 9, Washington 8: The early Georgia vs Washington game lasted more than four hours, and was the longest first seven innings in series history. The long game wasn't short on drama. The Bulldog's Brianna Hesson walked to force in the winning run in the ninth inning as the Geogria beat Washington 9-8.

Where did that grand slam land? Right here:

Another hot day at the ballpark

Everyone was going what they could to stay hydrated and out of the sun. Misting tents were set up along the first and third base concourses.

A outstanding day in womans softball. It took the entire day and it worth every minute watching the best of the best. We had no favorite team but no mattewr we loved the entire series. Broadcasting was first rate, we got it all and the teams should be proud and the sponcers should be happy?
The Mrs's and I have a bet? Way back when when she coached she stted that the girls had metal spikes type shoes, I say they do not hve them any longer? Who is right?
Will be glued to the TV tonight.

Thank you for great series.

Does anyone else feel like the commentator, John Kruk, is a bit too negative in his commentary?

It was sunny and beautiful in Seattle over the weekend, but I was on the couch, glued to the TV and watched ALL the games. I really thought Alabama was going to force and "if necessary" game against FLA, but not so much. Wow, what an ending. However, I'm pulling for the Huskies to go all the way! Go UW!!

That's just Kruk being Kruk. If you are referring to his comments about Florida trying to hit homeruns to score, it sounded to me like was trying to make the point of how other teams manufacture runs by slapping, bunting and stealing bases. He did perseverate the point, but it was kind of weird seeing all those Florida players hit the ball foul down the left field line almost continuously, until the grand slam.

I thought he was eloquent, however, when the ESPN anchor asked Kruk why he liked the game of softball so much. He basically said the players are not selfish, put their team first and don't complain, unlike pro baseball players (as he was).

I think his style is to be blunt, which he does pull-off very well.
