Princeton student-athlete speaks out about "dumb jock" myth - Nov 24, 2008 | 15:01:41

Adam Berry is a football student-athlete at Princeton. At a recent discussion on diversity Berry admitted that, rather than being proud of his athletics involvement, he felt a pressure to hide the fact that he was on the football team. According to Berry, professors, students and others often decried athletes as academically inferior. It took one supportive professor to turn his attitude around, helping Berry realize that "no student-athlete gets to Princeton on the merit of his or her athletic ability alone."
