
• In today's New York Times, Murray Chass asks if there should really be "Faith Nights" at professional baseball stadiums. Is this an inclusive or exclusive activity? Should religion be used as a means to sell tickets? Does religion have a place in sports?
• It's the last weekday before Selection Sunday. Are you ready? Any thoughts or predictions before the committee announces its field?
• Looking for a team to get behind? How about the Eagles of American University? If American beats Colgate in the Patriot League men's championship tonight, it will be the first time in school history that the program will head to the NCAA tournament. Only 48 of 328 eligible Division I teams have never been dancing, and 21 joined the division in the past decade. American has been trying since 1967.

• Just a reminder, the 10 folks from the NCAA membership have been hard at work since Tuesday night. The NCAA's Marcia Stubbemann was able to snap some pictures of the Men's Basketball Committee making some preliminary decisions.
• I'm pretty grateful I work at the NCAA every day, but especially during March. While some employers will block the tournament games streamed through the Internet next week, the national office will have computers and televisions rocking.
• The Division III basketball tournaments resume this evening at campus sites. If the Brandeis men win tonight and tomorrow night to get into the national semifinals, we might be taking a Double-A Zone road trip to Salem, Virginia next week. It will be the 50th championship hosted by the city.
• The Division II women's basketball tournament begins tonight with 32 first-round games. The men will begin their tournament tomorrow.
• USA Today posted a story on its Web site yesterday about the inclusiveness of wrestling. "It's a sport for all people," said Mike Moyer, executive director of the National Wrestling Coaches Association. The story mentions Anthony Robles, an Arizona State freshman who will compete in the Division I wrestling championships in St. Louis. Robles, who wrestles in the 125-pound weight class, was born with one leg, but has a 19-7 record and placed second in the Pacific-10 tournament.
• Don't forget to watch "Black Magic" this weekend. The documentary on basketball at historically black colleges and universities will air Sunday and Monday night on ESPN.
• The Michigan Senate and Michigan House of Representatives recognized Central Michigan University's 2007 Mid-American Conference champion football team earlier this week. CMU has won two consecutive conference titles.
