Every so often, we hear a truly touching story about a student-athlete in need. Those stories aren???t unique to student-athletes, as there are courageous students clawing their way through college on campuses all across the country.
With so much money involved in intercollegiate athletics, however, it???s inevitable that folks think more dollars should be available to student-athletes struggling financially. The NCAA???s extra-benefit rule prevents student-athletes from accepting gifts from members of the public and NCAA President Myles Brand explains why this is necessary on today???s edition of Mondays With Myles.
